Free Stampin' Up! Catalogs!

7-10

One lonely little catalog is all that I've got left!  I was so glad to have handed out over 6 cases of catalogs to yesterday's attendees at my usual Free Stampin' Up! Catalog Come and Get it!   (Where everything is free...catalogs, make and takes, & even Italian Sodas.  I didn't get a chance to bake the Chocolate Italian Biscotti as I was too busy stamping with my new sets to worry about the baking!  oops! Sorry, ladies.)  But it was a roaring success.  If you came, thanks!  If you didn't get a chance to pop in, don't despair, I've got another two cases coming on Monday and can get you YOUR free catalog!  Exciting, isn't it.  Let me know if I can gift you with a copy.

"But Sarah," you say, "that catalog is spiral bound, what's up with that?"

"Oh, that wonderful perk is available to my Stamp Club and Scrapbooking Club members .  Isn't that cool"  It's a little service I give to anyone that's in my Stamping or Scrapbooking Clubs or hosts a workshop with me.  We are starting new rounds of Hostess Clubs in August and have availability in both.  Email me for more details.  Or let's think about setting up your party or hosting Mini Camp.

So if you missed out on yesterday's extravaganza.  Here's one of the two Make and Takes that we did.

7-102

  • Stamps:  On the Earth - Hostess Set
  • Inks:  Rich Razzleberry
  • CS:  Cottage Wall DSP, White, Certainly Celery, Rich Razzleberry
  • Misc:  Rich Razzleberry Ribbon, White Satin, Square Punches, Bitty Box with Envelope Bigz Die

7-10-1

Well, that's it for today.  Think about the Hostess Clubs and make sure you register for the July 18th event!

    Fabulous Mail Day

We need to reawaken the long lost art of letter writing.  There are times I want to go back, to when a girl had nothing more exciting to do, than wait by the mailbox for the postman.  Today, if I'm in my long flowing dress with a basket of flowers at my feet waiting for Mr. Postman,  I'd be waiting for the Capital One Credit Card offers, the Freeman, the Journal/Sentinel, the Wisconsin Electric Bill, the Target VISA bill, etc, all while Ella is pouring liquid Vanilla Coffee-mate in the office re-frig, Denver is stalking the dog with the paintball gun and Adria is biking past neighborhood boys' homes!   The weeds are growing unchecked, chickens are running rampant and not a whole lot of stamping is going on.  But wouldn't it be nice to just have the time to wait for him AND it'd be worthwhile TO wait!

Well yesterday, I wasn't waiting for him BUT occasionally he'll surprise me.  It was a Banner Mailbox day.  We did get the usual circular file fodder but mixed in with the chaff we had a few jewels.  Lookie here at what Mr. Postman brought little ol' me.

    July2

    • Stamps:  Card Games
    • CS:  White, Old Olive, Jackpot Paper
    • Versamark
    • Misc:  Black Grosgrain and White Embossing Powder

An adorably stamped invite to our family's 4th of July party.  My aunt and uncle always host this annual event and it's pretty elaborate.  This year the theme is Vegas and all are encouraged to dress as your favorite Vegas entertainer.  I have to work at the hospital so I won't be attending but I could have done the Fat Elvis or have Ella dress in a lion costume and we could go as Seigfreid and entourage.  It's a blast, I'm so bummed I'll miss it.

AND, of course, checks are rolling in from my fabulous cruise sale.  Check out this envelope!  Maude P. sent me a GORGEOUS envelope.  I don't believe I've ever had a prettier letter show up in the box.  Check it out.  Well all for today, I must go forth and tackle the mountain of paperwork today.

    Onboard!

Whew, we've made it!  We have qualified for the 2010 Cruise to the Southern Caribbean.  I entered the last order at 11:50pm, our time, so we even had an hour to spare.   Thanks so much to all of you that turned out in full to help a desperate demo and took advantage of an awesome special.  Thanks again. Now, who wants to babysit a slightly active, precocious, sparkly, then to be 3 year old.  Mom says "no thankyou".  :)  Seriously, we will be foregoing a family vacation this summer in lieu of taking the 3 of them on the cruise.  (Going to the Cabin for a long weekend doesn't count as a family vacation as there is no running water and just outdoor bathroom facilities!  If one needs to bathe in the creek, it counts as purgatory and not a vacation)

    RCI_Adventure_CuracaoDolphins_rdax_574x400

We will be visiting Barbados, Antiqua, St Lucia, and St. Maarten.  We've worked really hard for this incentive trip but I can't do it without all of you.  I really have to laugh.  I spend 4 years in college to earn my Medical Technology degree and get hired at the VA Hospital in Milwaukee, then start my Stampin' Up! career some time later.  Which of the two professions would you rather work at, culturing bacteria on a plate and dealing with blood, OR partying with rubberstamps and friends.  AND when has the VA Medical Center ever sent me on a week long trip for two to some warm and balmy locale.  This "hobby" has been such a blessing to me and my family.  I'm thankful for the "part time" work at the hospital and that I can do such great things with this Stampin' Up! business.  I'd love to share the Stampin' Up! opportunity with you and see if a rubberstamping business will fit your needs.  Call me at 262-521-3194.

So now it's out with the old and in with the new.  We have a brand new catalog that debuts TODAY at 12:00 MT.  I will have a link up here shortly thereafter for the new catalog.  Of course it's much better in person!  They are sitting on the back counter in the stamp room.  Come and GET THEM.  I have the Catalog Kickoff scheduled for Thursday, July 9th. And the fun never stops, SU will announce a weekly special today for one item shown in this photo.  Can you guess which one is one sale for this week?  It's a great deal!  Stay tuned!

    Animal Stories

I had my downline meeting last evening and of course, we had to crack open the new In-Colors.  I'm SO going to miss ALL of the current ones but again, I"m fickle and I'll probably fall in love with these as well.  I will say this years Designer Series Paper ROCK my tiny little world.  We can order from the new catalog tomorrow at noon.  Of course, my entire psyche depends on earning this cruise!  I may be holed up, sobbing over a bunch of brochures touting the beauty of the Southern Caribbean OR have turned in the orders in the 11th hour and can be found making my list for NEW products from this new catalog.  Either way, today is the LAST day to take advantage of my "GET ON THE BOAT SALE!", where you can have 20% off ANYTHING in the current Spring Summer Catalog.  So stock up on all your supplies and help me avoid a meltdown.  We have a toddler here, that's well able to supply our family with all the drama it needs, it shouldn't be necessary for me to join her.  Thanks again to all of you that have already submitted orders!  Hugs to you all.

AND speaking of catalogs, they are HERE!  I'm having my Kick-off on the 9th of July but if you cannot wait for the Kick off and need a catalog to complete your week.  Perhaps you will be spending a weekend with some Forced Family Fun and need a bright spot, swing on by and pick one up!

Big Shot Raffle & Relay for Life

We've had such an exciting weekend!  My family, friends and downline participated in Mukwonago's Relay for Life (The American Cancer Society's all night walk fundraiser) on Friday night through Saturday.  It was a very exciting, fun, emotional and moving experience.  I'm so thankful to all those on my team that came to support me and the team, Creating A Cure.  I beleive our group ultimately turned in over $2200 dollars and the overall Mukwonago totals were $78,000 for ACS.  Amazing.

I had done a stamp camp earlier in the year and had sold tickets through out the spring and raffled off the Big Shot Starter Kit ($199 value) at the event.  The winner was Sharon M of Mukwonago.  She agreed to let me share a photo.   Again, thanks to all that purchased tickets or attended the events.  I was able to donate just shy of $1000 in proceeds from both the raffle and Stamp Camp.

    Bigshot

As soon as I called her Saturday morning, Sharon ran right over to pick it up.

Here's a quick card that I will be using tonight at my downline meeting using my beloved Big Shot.  I never imagined how much I would use this baby.  If you are considering a Big Shot and really wonder how much you'd use it?  Let me assure you, it'll be TONS!  And think about getting it before June 30th, I've got my Cruise Special going...20% off anything!  Email or call me at 262-521-3194 for more info.

That and That - June Update

Rob and the big kids are back from their Canadian Fishing trip and so the schedules we settled into after school need to be relearned and settled again.  Oh well, I did get a chance to stamp a bit yesterday so I'll share those with you later.  I borrowed my camera to my SIL for a dance recital so I need to get that back and I can share some samples from class yesterday.  But in the mean time, let me amaze you with the This and That Sketches that are in the June mid-month newsletter!

I've used the sketch on page 133 of current catalog.  Here's one of my favorites, it's simple, clean and easy.  I think it needs some ribbons but I didn't want to stray too far from the original design.

    June3 (2)

    • Stamps:  Animal Stories (new catalog!), Holiday and Wishes
    • Inks:  Basic Gray
    • CS:  Regal Rose, Going Gray, Basic Gray, Walk in the Park DSP

    June1

    • Stamps:  Love you Much

The 3rd Sketch is in my mid month newsletter, and it's probably my favorite.  If you haven't signed up for my newsletter yet, simply enter your address below!  You will be the recipient of gorgeous card designs, fabulous tips, and essential stamping news.  :)  Whew, it's pretty deep in here!   Hope you enjoy the day.   Hit the pool, and stay cool.

    Heartfelt Thanks

Retirement...I felt a little sad when I had to say goodbye to the Smurfs and I suppose if I were older when it happened, Johnnie Carson,  I was seriously scarred for life when Calvin and Hobbes was over, I was a little disappointed when my favorite Starbucks coffee was retired, (I can still ask nicely and they make it for me though!) I just wish Brett Favre would STAY retired! but that's a rant for a whole nother website...and I'm going to miss quite a few sets on this retiring "Last Chance list this year. But usually retirement is good, right?  Grandmas get to come and help clumsy wanna be soccer player's who've torn their ACL(not that I know so much about that!) and  stampers get to come and spend lots of time at my classes!  I  love retirement.  I think I've got 23 years until I can retired from the VA, not that I'm counting.

So here's a shout out to retirement and one of the sets that we'll miss in the catalog, Heartfelt Thanks.

    Hf2

This was a copy of a card that Brent Steele demonstrated at our annual Stampin' Up! Convention.  I think it was the year that we introduced the set.  I love how the Brocade Blue accents the Apricot Appeal.  Yummy!

    Hf3

Here's another sample from the Card Sample Vault.  I've gone to great lenghts to preserve for your viewing pleasure.  Please don't mind the small bend in the upper left hand corner.  Museum quality artifacts do at times have flaws. Times up for today and I've blathered on long enough.

I wished I could say that I've spent the week stamping but I've been prepping for class and working in the garden.  I will get some time this week.  I promise!

    Boatloads of Love

There ain't gonna  be any boat floatin' if I don't get crack-a-lackin'.  I promised the kids I'd work really hard this week while they are fishing in Canada and I'd get on the phone and do some followup this week.  We are coming down to the last two weeks of June and with it the deadline for earning the Southern Caribbean Cruise.  Last June when we earned the Hawaii trip, we'd told them that the resort in Hawaii rocked and that we all could go on that SU trip...Well, then Rob's brother got engaged and was getting married two weeks before we were to leave for Hawaii.  So I really didn't think the School Board would give their blessings to one week off for a family trip to Oregon, attend school for 8 days and then have off for 9 days for another family vacation, all followed up by Easter vacation.  And I didn't think the in-laws would give the blessing to skipping the wedding and just partying in Hawaii, so we compromised with all of us going to Oregon with the promise that they could all go to on the Southern Caribbbean cruise.  It was a slam-dunk when they saw the boat that SU has booked!

So I have to get on the phone.  Make me, would you?  Tell me that you'd love to hear from me.  :)  Seriously, I have been working...here's one of my cards for today's Urban Oasis class.  Isn't it adorable!

    OA2

    Uo3

    Stamps:  Boatloads of Love

    Inks:  Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss

    CS; Baja Breeze, Urban Oasis

This is one of the sets on the Last Chance list I'm a little sad to see leaving.  It's pretty cute.  If it's on your list, make sure you visit my online store before June 30th to order your set.   Now if you love the card, remember it's one that we are doing at the Urban Oasis DSP class.  You can come and stamp them yourself or order up a "kit to go".  To Go kits include USPS shipping of $4.95 so it can be delivered directly to your door.  Off to check on the pipsqueak and think about making some phone calls.  :)

    Friends 24-7

Today is June 15th.  If you check my calendar, you'll see that volume 8.3 of Stamps By Mailgoes out today.  This is such a fun program where you get your "stamp camp" mailed directly to your house and you can work on them at the cabin, in your jammies, when you're feeling ill. etc.  Love it.  Here's one of the cards that the Stamp by Mailers are doing in their kits this month.

    Sbm8.5

    • Stamps:  Friends 24-7
    • CS:  Kraft, Baja Breeze, Vellum, Chocolate Chip, Confetti White
    • Inks:  Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive Pad
    • Misc:  Circle Punch, Scallop Punch, Blender Pen

"But Sarah, you promised me retiring samples", you remind.  "Cute, but what's retiring on that card!"  Ah yes, the in-colors!  They are going quickly, so order your card stock and refills before they are gone, gone gone.  I will truely miss Baja Breeze.  It's such a serene calming color for me.  The new in-colors are much more energetic and if you know me, I'm not sure additional "energetic" is such a good thing.   Stay tuned, I'm hoping to crack open my new in-colors and get to work.  First though, I have to finish one more card for tomorrow's Urban Oasis DSP class.  You coming?  I hope so.  We are using and here's one of the cards we are doing tomorrow.

    Sipbysip

    • Stamps:  Sip By Sip
    • CS:  Basic Black, Urban Oasis, White

    • Inks:  Black, Blush Blossom

    • Misc:  Modern Label Punch (sneak peek from new cattie!), Gold Brads

This is one of MY favorite sets.  It's just so cheeky that I love it!  Now, I know a few of you have said, yuck!  But I will tell you that when Adria brought her cards for Relay for Life to school, a card using this set and these colors was the BIGGEST seller, so I can't be completely wrong.  All for today.  Must get going!  :)
